Echocardiography is a precise, non-invasive imaging method that uses harmless ultrasound waves to deliver real-time views of heart anatomy and hemodynamics. It allows the cardiologist to assess chamber dimensions, wall thickness, valve function, and blood flow dynamics.
What to Expect
The test is safe, radiation-free, and painless, typically taking 20 to 40 minutes. You will lie comfortably on your left side while the ultrasound probe is gently moved across your chest.
